In 1999, the Island Treasure Awards were founded with a hopeful vision: to recognize and celebrate the artists, storytellers, musicians, historians, writers, and cultural leaders whose creativity enriches Bainbridge Island and strengthens our community.

The ITA was created to elevate the people who shape our cultural life and to encourage a community that embraces the arts and humanities. Looking around Bainbridge Island today, we see that mission thriving in ways that far exceed our early hopes. For this, we are profoundly grateful.

The Island Treasure Awards will sunset its operations this year. This decision comes not from decline, but from success. The contributions of past Treasures through art, scholarship, performance, preservation, leadership, and inspiration have helped create a lasting cultural legacy.

We are confident in Bainbridge Island’s future as a hub for creativity, imagination, and cultural connection. The spirit that inspired Island Treasure continues to thrive through people like you and the generations that follow.
