If you’ve turned on the radio, attended a pops concert at the Seattle Symphony, or listened to film scores and podcasts, chances are you’ve encountered the music of Andrew Joslyn. His career has taken him around the world, into prestigious recording studios, and even onto the Grammy red carpet. While many know him as the creative force behind hits for artists like Macklemore and Kesha, Bainbridge Island knows him as something much more: a homegrown treasure whose roots run deep in the community.

Raised on Bainbridge Island, Andrew cultivated his craft under the guidance of teachers, fellow artists, and local mentors, including a few Island Treasures. His early musical journey began with projects and plays at Bainbridge High School, as well as his first band. He expanded his skills at Western Washington University and later honed his professional knowledge at Berklee College of Music, where he learned not only artistry but also the business of sustaining a career. These lessons have shaped him into a multifaceted musician: composer, orchestrator, scorer, and violinist for the acclaimed Passenger String Quartet.

Andrew’s artistry is matched by his commitment to people. As one nominator expressed, he “cares deeply about what he does and, just as importantly, about the people he does it for.” Whether connecting with an audience of thousands in an arena or sharing an intimate moment between a local indie artist and a single listener at Pleasant Beach, Andrew understands music’s unique power to bridge divides and foster shared experience. His passion extends beyond performance; he tirelessly brings opportunities to Bainbridge musicians and audiences, enriching the community through his generosity and vision.

From performing with the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra to hosting evenings of music at Pleasant Beach, from cultural events across Kitsap County to the recording studio above his garage, Andrew consistently invests in his community. His musical reach is international, but his devotion to Bainbridge is personal and constant.

A two-time BMI Award winner, Andrew balances a remarkable professional career with his roles as husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He is celebrated not only for his musical brilliance but also for his leadership, kindness, and creativity. For these reasons, Bainbridge Island now recognizes Andrew Joslyn as an Island Treasure, honoring both his artistry and his enduring impact on the community.
